Holman Update December 2020
December 16, 2020
Happy New Year and a Blessed Epiphany! What a tumultuous year 2020 was. We’re so thankful for Resurrection’s financial and prayer support. God has protected Tom and me, our families, and the families of the translation teams we work with in Ghana and Nigeria from COVID-19. And in spite of some hiccups along the way, we’ve been able to make progress in translating the Bible into these languages. Please pray that our health would continue to be good, and that the work would go well in 2021.
We pray that Lutheran Church of the Resurrection would continue to proclaim Jesus as “a light to reveal God to the nations.” Luke 1:32a
In Christ, the light of the world,
Mary

Holman Update 11/2020
November 19, 2020
The network in the Waja area in Nigeria has been dramatically better since I asked you to pray last month. We finished checking the set of Old Testament portions from Exodus, Deuteronomy, and Joshua. The two translators are now preparing portions about King David and some Psalms for me to check.
This month Tom has been participating in an intensive three-week course on the book of Proverbs, analyzing the text in Hebrew in the light of the many and often different translations in English. He has learned a lot, and this will be helpful for when the Anufo team in Ghana translates Proverbs.
Thank you so much for your prayers! We pray that you will have a meaningful Advent season and a peace-filled Christmas.
“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” (Luke 2:14)
Peace in Christ our Savior,
Mary
